Hi! I’m Chris Blackburn

I grew up in Salt Lake City and have lived in Chicago and Seattle. After my travels I settled back down in SLC. I am a photographer who absolutely loves his job and everything that comes with it. I appreciate the people I meet, the places I go, the hours I keep, and the spontaneity in every shoot.

I appreciate the raw reality of everyday life, this is reflected in my style of photography. Which, in many cases, photoshop, and I do my very best to take every picture with that in mind. I want my viewers to be so engaged with my photo’s and art they can keep coming back to them with the same amount of enjoyment.

The photographers I admire are all long and past, but most come from the golden age of cinema and photography. The ability to sculpt light, give positive direction, and make conscious decisions on how to shoot all play a role in my style of photography.

While in college I was able to take a year of photography. After that, I was hooked. Since learning on 35mm film I have taught myself, digital workflow, lighting, medium and large format film, wet plate collodion, paper negatives and positives, and dark room raiditional, Cyanotype, and Van Dyke printing.
